Parking Lot Reminders

As part of our ongoing commitment to student safety, we kindly ask families to exercise patience and care when using the school parking lot during drop-off and pick-up times.

Our parking lot can become very busy, particularly at the start and end of the day. Please follow all posted traffic signs and directional arrows, adhere to designated drop-off zones, and avoid stopping in fire routes, bus lanes, the middle of the roadway, or any clearly marked no-stopping areas. These procedures are in place to ensure the safe and efficient movement of students, staff, buses, and vehicles.  Families are encouraged to drop their students off before the 8:25 a.m. bell to avoid congestion in the parking lot.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a calm and orderly environment. A few extra moments of patience go a long way in keeping our community safe.

Thank you for your continued support.

Puppets for the Alchemy

The Visual Arts Department would love to collect newspapers (not glossy flyers) for creating a series of eight-foot-tall papier-mâché puppets for the Alchemy Flato Markham Theatre show, as well as clean, resealable food containers to be used as paint palettes. Thank you in advance.

Preparing for course selection for the 2026–2027 school year

Course selection submission will open on Thursday, February 12 at 9:00 a.m. and will close on Friday, February 20 at 4:00 p.m.
Information Sessions and Course Selection Presentations

To support students in making informed course choices, each grade level received course selection information through grade assemblies on Monday, February 9. In addition, students had the opportunity to participate in a Course Selection Fair on Tuesday, February 10, where they could speak with staff and learn more about available courses and pathways. Students continue to have access to the presentations shared during these sessions and are encouraged to review this information at home with parents and guardians.

Course Selection Process
Please note that course selection is NOT first come, first served

Once course selections are submitted, course sections are locked and changes cannot be made, so careful planning is essential.

Prior to selecting courses, students are encouraged to review their Student Status Sheet (SSS), which was distributed in homeroom classes. Students without a Period 1 class may pick up their SSS from the Guidance Office. Students should carefully consider their course choices and research post-secondary program requirements before submitting their course requests.

  3. ouinfo.ca

  5. https://www.skilledtradesontario.ca/
Important to Note
  • Once course selection is complete, My Pathway Planner (My Blueprint) will no longer update any changes made beyond that point.
  • Courses on My Pathway Planner (My Blueprint) are not the student’s timetable for the school year.  The courses submitted are requests only.
  • Alternate courses may be used when initial course requests cannot be scheduled.
  • Courses are prioritized by grade.  Requesting a course outside the student’s grade (i.e. a grade 10 student requesting a grade 11 course or a grade 11 student requesting a grade 12 course) is not guaranteed

Guidance Support During Course Selection
To further support students during the course selection window, the Guidance Office will be available for walk-in meetings.

In addition, a Guidance pop-up will be stationed in the cafeteria during Periods 3 and 4 to answer questions and provide troubleshooting support.

Parent/Guardian Approval Required

Please note that parent/guardian approval is required for course selections. Parents and guardians should watch for an email from MyBlueprintrequesting approval. Courses cannot be processed without parent/guardian approval.

Course Verification and Change Requests

In early spring (after March Break), students, parents, and guardians will have the opportunity to request changes through the course verification process
Please note that elective course changes will NOT be completed after the verification process is finalized.
